I think today goes in the books as one of those perfect weekend days. I slept in a bit, went to the gym and got 3.5 miles in on the treadmill. I wanted to get more running miles in, but not too many since we had a hike planned. After the treadmill, I came home downed an awesome berry/yogurt/protein shake D made me, showered, and got dressed in layers for a hike.
It was a very cold day, so not many people were out. The few that saw us, though, all commented on how cold my poor greyhound must be. It's true; greyhounds get cold easily, but this one refuses to wear a coat. As long as she is moving, she tends to be fine.
Altogether it was about a 4 mile hike in the foothills, nothing too steep or intense. But just nice enough to enjoy a cold day by being outside.
Of course, there is nothing better than coming home, making pancakes, and warming up. Follow that with laying on the couch, drinking a stout, and watching some football and may day is bliss. Heading to a friend's house this evening to make this cauliflower pizza crust recipe tonight. Hope it turns out well :)

Your miles over the last two weeks are beast, so I wouldn't worry about skimping on the treadmill a little.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a good weekend!
I miss hiking! There aren't a lot of places near us right now. Sounds like an ideal Sunday. Hope the pizza turned out! I've been wanting to try her recipe.
