I have resisted the bright colored running shoes...until now. I don't find anything wrong with the bright colors, but I am just not a bright colored person. If given the choice, I would choose a more subtle shoe. Unless there is no choice and you are standing in your running store, knowing about all the discounts you get, and knowing that there are two perfect pairs of shoes waiting for you. I had no choice; I went for it.
As I mentioned the other day, I intended to buy the Mizuno Wave Inspires and possibly the Wave Riders. I was open to other suggestions for a neutral shoe, but I figured my feet are used to the Inspires, so the Riders will not be that different. So the Riders are the pinkish (red?) shoe and the Inspires are blue.
I am wondering if adding darker laces to the Inspires would tone the shoe down just a little?
I had a choice between these all red/pink ones and the same pair in an aqua, but with really bright pink trim. I am not really a pink fan, and the pink was more subtle in these shoes (if you can believe that!).
Do you like bright shoes?
I have to admit on the treadmill last night (I was tired of the cold), looking down every once in a while and seeing the blue shoes did make me smile just a bit.

LOVE bright shoes! My racing pair is a set of florescent yellow SKORA Forms. Honestly, they make me feel faster ;)http://bit.ly/149iIax
ReplyDeleteSKORA is also coming out with some beautifully bright shoes in 2013: http://bit.ly/149iS1I

Nice! I love my SKORAS! I do get lots of comments on them. Sadly, I can't run more than 3-4 miles in them. My feet are just not meant for minimalist shoes.
DeleteWell no one is saying you have to run farther than that in them :) Different shoes for different runs and purposes. Shoes are a tool just like anything else.
DeletePlus, research does show that even wearing lightweight shoes for the warm up and short runs will benefit ALL of your running: http://skorarunning.com/bf-strength-training
Bright shoes are so FUN! My last pair I wanted were bright, but they didn't fit quite right...so I went to some that weren't as exciting. I like these new ones you got.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel like the running industry just all of a sudden decided we all need bright shoes. I guess it is fun, even if I did not really have a choice about it :)
DeleteI go back and forth on how I feel about shoe colors. My last pair of 15s were the limited edition pink, so my new 16s are white with purple trim. Next pair will probably be a bright color again ;)
ReplyDeleteI've definitely noticed the trend w/ all the bright shoes these days, but haven't strayed from my tried and true Asics. I don't dislike the bright, but I think I'd naturally go with the "calmer" colors if I had a choice.
ReplyDeleteThey look fast anyway :)
I love bright colored shoes! Yours are very cute! I usually wear Brooks Launch in bright red and neon yellow. I just ordered Brooks Pure Flow 2 in bright pink...I'm hooked, running companies have sucked me in...lol! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE bright shoes!!
ReplyDeleteThe colour is definitely something I look for whenever I'm buying..
Love, love, love your choices - the blue one is amazing!
